The challenge:
Pre-Existing Brand Limitations
When I joined StockX in 2021, the company had recently undergone a brand refresh earlier that year. However, with a small and nimble brand design team, there wasn't ample opportunity for further design exploration. I took it upon myself to dedicate some additional after-hours time to delve into potential identity system opportunities.
The solution:
Enhancing The Identity for Adaptability
Notching out a brand element from the upward angle of the logomark, a new symbol emerged. The Trajectory Symbol represents an upward ascension that was needed in the midst of public hardships during 2022. Harnessing this new symbol in various applications, such as; a holding shape for product or lifestyle imagery, patterns for brand collateral, merchandise, and a tool for composition guidelines. In addition, I refreshed the color portfolio to incorporate shades and gradient combinations, thereby refining the brand identity to be more dynamic and versatile.
